I think I need life insurance but I can’t afford it. How do I save money on life insurance?

I want a policy that will last until my boy’s out of college, which will probably be 20 years from now max. I know I don’t want Whole Life – it’s too expensive. So far the cheapest quote I’ve found was here:

http://quotesource.net/life-insurance/

Does anyone have anymore ideas? I’m a single mom and want the cheapest policy possible that will help my boy pay for college if something happens to me.

Many of my clients thought it was too expensive to buy life insurance until I show them how inexpensive it is to buy term insurance. I don’t know your age or health, but lets assume you are 30 years old and you are healthy. If you buy a 20 year term with $300,000 coverage, it would cost about $20/month.

If you live in the United States and are looking to save money for your kid’s education, you should look at 529 plns. These plans are design solely for higher education and easily transferreable from child to child. Anyone can contribute money into this plan.

How can I start saving money?

You have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T. What kind of cutbacks can you make? For example: I drink bottled water. Paying $1 a bottle on something that covers over 65% of our planet is not smart. So I bought one of those water filters that screw into your faucet. I have bottles that I refil over and over again. This doesn’t take much time and you will reduce your carbon footprint as a bonus. Do you have a lot of small appliances around the house that are always on? Televisions, subwoofers, computers, modems, sterio equipment and microwaves use the most energy when they are left plugged into the outlet, even when they are turned off. Plug all your plugs from entertainment system into those 6 prong outlet plugs with the switch on them. When you are not using these items shut the switch off. I noticed a huge difference on my electric bill just by doing this. I also bought some of those florescent bulbs that look a lot like a regular bulb. These things use 80% less electricity than regular bulbs. Ave 60Watt incalescent bulb (old school) runs you 2 cents per hour. Ave 60Watt energy bulb averages 0.5 cents per hour. Wanna be creative? Find yourself leaving lights on? Buy a motion sensor switch, the lights will turn on when you enter the room and will turn off (by a set amount of time) when you leave the room. I have one, they cost $15 at HomeDepot. You would be surprised, but these small things add up. If you really need the money right away start cutting back on your food costs. Romain noodles cost a dime and they taste just as good as campbells chicken noodle that costs over $1 a can. Ok no chicken in romain noodles, but you are probably just missing about 4 tiny pieces of chicken. Adjust your toilet to use lesser water. If you don’t know how to do this then put a brick inside your toilet ‘chamber’. You will use a less water each time you flush, this adds up over time people. Before you know it you will be ahead. Do you really need over 100 channels on your cable tv? Watch shows on-line for free and down grade your cable service. Need new windshield wipers for your car? Who says you have to buy 2? You only need the new one on the drivers side, leave the old wiper on the passenger side. Are you an impulsive buyer?? Listen here’s what you do……always save the receipt. Find a place to save all the boxes, packaging, etc. Try to get obsessed with folding all the packing materials, making them neat and tape the receipt onto the box/package. Make a game out of it. And get yourself into a new habit called "impulse returning" I once bought a shampoo rug cleaner to scrub my carpets. After I was done I didnt need it anymore so I returned it to the store. I like to think of it as free rental. So remember you have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T!

Check out http://www.restaurant.com
Put in the City and search for places you might want to try. There are menus that you can view.
If you decide to purchase a certificate there is a code you can use today that will give you 80% off a certificate. If you have a Discover Card and make the purchase through the Discover Card Site you will get something like 20% cash back on the purchase.
The code for today is Bonus put that is when you check out and the 80% will be deducted. In other words you will be spending something like $2.00 for a certificate worth $25.00 Make sure you check the conditions, some are not valid on weekends some not valid on holidays and the restaurant may consider Valentines day a holiday.
For romantic you should check out The Italian village. The restaurant on the second floor has tables set into alcoves and they can be curtained off. Not to mention the food is very good.

How do i save up money for a wii and a copy of super smash bros. brawl?

Well i’m a freshman in high school and i really don’t have time to save all that money up, i really depend on my mom and dad, but i wonder how i could help them, or things i can do to help them to save up money =D or , if you have any ideas on how i could save money, because i do spend some,(lunch money, water etc.) for lunch…

PLEASE HELP ME!

Try this – take a quick survey of your home / closets / garage / attic / basement / etc. and make a list of items that nobody is currently using. Old clothes, furniture, appliances, household stuff, video games, shoes, sports equipment, whatever you’ve got.

Take this list to your parents and ask their permission to sell some of these items on Craigslist.

Use a digital camera to take pictures of all your "merchandise" and then list it a few items at a time and have a virtual garage sale. Don’t quit til you’ve got your Wii money! (might take a few months)

Your parents get some free cleaning, you get the chance to move that much closer to your goal. Win-win.

How much money should I save to move from NE to AZ?

Good morning!

My fiancee and I are looking to move from Nebraska to Arizona when our lease is up, which is in October of 2010…we are looking into moving into an apartment there to start, and then once we get settled and find jobs, look for a home. About how much money do you think we should save for our big move? Does anyone know what the job market in Arizona is like right now? Does anyone know what neighborhoods in Arizona are good and which ones we should stay away from? All I really have debt wise is a car payment to worry about. Any advice would be helpful! Thanks for your time!
Well, we are looking to move for a change, basically. We are young, nothing is really holding us back, and we figured, might as well. Not to mention, we are really wanting to get away from the brutal winter here in Nebraska! I also noticed there are more things to do in Arizona. We are going down there in a week to check out jobs, living situations, etc. Does anyone know how to go about applying for a job out of state? I mean, we are going there in a week, but we don’t plan on moving there until our lease is up, which is October of this year.

I jump into three southwest forums; LA, San Diego and Phoenix.

Let me tell you that Phoenix is the best city to take a chance in. You can come here with $13,000 in the bank and last for eight months. In SoCal you would be eaten alive in four months.

Neither one of you have offered to state what you do for a living. If it’s health care you will rock. If you are both snowplow operators you will starve. If you are IT specialists you should have little problems. If you are surreal bartenders and waitresses you should be able to click here, especially in the cooler months when the snowbirds flock into the Valley. In the summertime the 5-Star resorts are the way to shine.

Phoenix is either Hi-Tech or Low Tech for jobs. The mid range jobs seem to have been off loaded overseas. Customer service?…See India. Hi-Tech assembly…see Mexico or China or Thailand or Indonesia. I really hope you see my point here. Jobs requiring an average technical skill are not available in the U.S.A. in significant numbers. Low Tech jobs, servicing the people that do Hi-Tech jobs, are abundant. Mickey-D’s, Jacks, Circle-K, supermarkets…ETC.

Email me directly if you want to know about applying for jobs or moving here. I’ll help you all I can. There is so much you two do not know.
