Saving money?
I have a few things I want to buy I have made a list:
Ipod Touch
Some new golf clubs (driver, irons, hybrid, wedge)
That is easily probably $1,500
However I took money out of the bank a while ago like $600 and still want to pay at least half back before making one of those purchases.
But, here is another curveball, I am getting my license in just under 2 months. I plan on trying to get a job. My car will be provided by my mom and dad. I will also have to pay for gas. I plan on asking for some of those things for christmas and my b-day. My mom and dad will probably split the golf clubs with me. I pay half they pay half.
Starting today I am putting 50% of what I get and all of my change towards gas and paying the bank back.
What should I do to start saving up for the items I have mentioned above?
Thanks.
Are you going to be a professional golfer? Or are your parents going to pay for whatever education you need for what you do decide to do professionally, so you can keep buying necessities?
How can I save money on my credit cards?
I have some debt and my intrest rates are ridiculous right now. What steps can I take to save some money, without ruining my credit?
You can try applying for a low-interest credit card and transfer the balance to your new credit card, then try to pay it off as soon as you can. Don’t transfer balances too often though, cuz that will lower your credit score. It’s better to pay them off than moving them around.
How can we save money on gas and oil these days?
It seems that gas prices go up and down all the time. Sometimes, it limits what we do. Is there a way to save money?
Obviously drive less, but i when you do drive there are a few things you can do to get better mileage. Numero uno is drive the speed limit. The faster you go the worse your mileage is going to be. Number 2, make sure your tires are inflated to the max psi as stated on the tire. Also, if you drive a stick you can put it in neutral when going down hills. It’s mostly common sense stuff. No jack rabbit starts, stuff like that. And use the expensive synthetic motor oil. It might cost more initially but you don’t have to change it as often and you get better mileage to boot.
How can I save time marking student papers?
I’m a Freshman Composition teacher, and am totally absorbed in grading (2 days already – and this is only the first draft). I need to know:
1. If you’re a student – does it really make a difference how much/little I comment on in a paper?
2. If you’re a teacher – what are some innovative time-saving methods to commenting on a paper?
My english professor graded in a series of stages last semester, and it was successful for me. Paper 1’s focus was grammar, 2 was Introductions, 3 was Conclusions, 4 was Body Organization and Topic Development, 5 put it all together, and 6 was a 10-page research paper, which was commented on most. On each of the papers, he focused on one part of paper-writing, and the problems were rectified, for the most part, on the respective papers. He didn’t need to waste time commenting on every mistake, because most of them had been cleared up on the paper prior. It did wonders for me, as I got a 494/500 on the research paper, and an A in the class. Plus, it allowed us students to focus on something, and recieve the maximum feedback on the topic of focus. Awesome class!
What are the possible way to save money? All commodities are very high and cylinder also going to cost more?
In a single salary family how can we save money in this present situation. Everything costs triple. Nowadays the life of service salary people becomes very poor in metropolitan cities like Mumbai. Who is going to control the prices of the commodities?
The mantra is to save money by less consumption.
Reduce eating out frequency.
Reduce gas consumption applying saving tips
Use public transport instead of using your sccoter/ car for going to your workplace.
Watch movie at home.
You cannot control prices. What you can do is control the expenses.
ride-on lawn mowers. Do they really save time compared to ordinary ones?
I’m thinking of buying one for my father. But do you really save much time and hassle with them?
Most riding mowers will cut a swath twice or three times as wide as a regular mower. So yes, on a moderate to large sized yard they will save time. On a small lawn you can spend so much time maneuvering that you won’t save any time.
How can you save money on paying off a car loan?
I would like to do that for paying off my car from a loan I got from my credit union. The principal is not that big and I can pay that off probably in one lump. I would like to save money on interest or avoid paying interest by paying off the principal in advance. Is this possible?
If I were to make monthly payments, I got about three more years to go.
Assuming you have a normal loan, part of each monthly payment is interest accrued on the principle balance since the last payment. If you pay of the principle, you save the interest that would have accrued for the remaining term of the loan. Contact the lender and ask for the payoff amount for a specific date. Interest accrues daily. The payoff amount today is slightly less than the payoff amount tomorrow.
How can I save money on food in Melbourne? Are there any food outlet stores that sell cheap, good quality food
I need to save money on food. I feed a family of five and it’s just SO expensive to feed them now that prices have risen. Any hints on cheap meals to prepare would be good too. Thanks
Hi. You should shop at Aldi, it’s cheaper than Coles or Safeway. Google saying "home-made easy meals". I hope everything works out okay.
Sorry this isn’t very helpful….

i know ever one will come out of the wood work and say bad investment but — for as a little as $25.00 you can buy a savings bond — you can not cash it for 6 months and i realize the interest is only 3.5 but go for it and if you can put up $50.00 go for the I series — that one you will have to wait a year to get your money — completely risk free – backed by the govt and available at any bank that sales bonds good luck!!!
please suggest me how to get rid of the below specified distraction and save time for studying.?
I am in tenth class CBSE now. Board exams are fast approaching.
I am having a problem.
The time available is too short. I can’t afford to waste time.
But a major distraction for me in our house is TV. I have tried my best to cut the connection.
But, my house members are not allowing me to do so. I am also tempted to watch TV and hence prone to wasting time.
Hence, please suggest me how to get rid of this distraction and save time for studying.
