I think I need life insurance but I can’t afford it. How do I save money on life insurance?

I want a policy that will last until my boy’s out of college, which will probably be 20 years from now max. I know I don’t want Whole Life – it’s too expensive. So far the cheapest quote I’ve found was here:

Does anyone have anymore ideas? I’m a single mom and want the cheapest policy possible that will help my boy pay for college if something happens to me.

Many of my clients thought it was too expensive to buy life insurance until I show them how inexpensive it is to buy term insurance. I don’t know your age or health, but lets assume you are 30 years old and you are healthy. If you buy a 20 year term with $300,000 coverage, it would cost about $20/month.

If you live in the United States and are looking to save money for your kid’s education, you should look at 529 plns. These plans are design solely for higher education and easily transferreable from child to child. Anyone can contribute money into this plan.

don’t waste your time on crummy websites. They are often misleading and quote you a bare bones price and then add on ratings and such later. Kind of like buying a car and then they charge you for floor matts, undercoating and all that.

Go to a Broker. A broker will shop around for the best price you and prepare you for exactly what you will pay. They can also do a needs analysis to let you see how much insurance you will need. I know a lot of people will just guess at it and will pay for more insurance than they need, or the opposite, not have neough and then the family still suffers if someting happens.

You are correct based on the information that you’ve provided that whole life is not what you are looking for. One thing to keep in mind while shopping around is that cheapest isn’t always a good thing. Look at toys made in China…they are cheaper, but some use lead paint and babies get lead poisoning from it. Sometimes the cheapest insurance has loopholes for companies to get out of, so make sure that the broker explains about whatever company he chooses so you know it’s a good one.

Nice try. Your question is spam because the site you cite doesn’t give you quotes, but I’m assuming you make money when people click on the links. Therefore I’m assuming you don’t need an answer to your question. If you’re going to advertise at least be honest about it.
