How can I start saving money?
Well, i get paid from work, but everytime i keep going to the bank to withdraw money and the bank keeps sending me some papers showing how much i took out all the time, like a summary and sometimes its a lot of pages meaning i have taken out too much. Please help and tell me how I can stop spending and start saving, thanks.
You have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T. What kind of cutbacks can you make? For example: I drink bottled water. Paying $1 a bottle on something that covers over 65% of our planet is not smart. So I bought one of those water filters that screw into your faucet. I have bottles that I refil over and over again. This doesn’t take much time and you will reduce your carbon footprint as a bonus. Do you have a lot of small appliances around the house that are always on? Televisions, subwoofers, computers, modems, sterio equipment and microwaves use the most energy when they are left plugged into the outlet, even when they are turned off. Plug all your plugs from entertainment system into those 6 prong outlet plugs with the switch on them. When you are not using these items shut the switch off. I noticed a huge difference on my electric bill just by doing this. I also bought some of those florescent bulbs that look a lot like a regular bulb. These things use 80% less electricity than regular bulbs. Ave 60Watt incalescent bulb (old school) runs you 2 cents per hour. Ave 60Watt energy bulb averages 0.5 cents per hour. Wanna be creative? Find yourself leaving lights on? Buy a motion sensor switch, the lights will turn on when you enter the room and will turn off (by a set amount of time) when you leave the room. I have one, they cost $15 at HomeDepot. You would be surprised, but these small things add up. If you really need the money right away start cutting back on your food costs. Romain noodles cost a dime and they taste just as good as campbells chicken noodle that costs over $1 a can. Ok no chicken in romain noodles, but you are probably just missing about 4 tiny pieces of chicken. Adjust your toilet to use lesser water. If you don’t know how to do this then put a brick inside your toilet ‘chamber’. You will use a less water each time you flush, this adds up over time people. Before you know it you will be ahead. Do you really need over 100 channels on your cable tv? Watch shows on-line for free and down grade your cable service. Need new windshield wipers for your car? Who says you have to buy 2? You only need the new one on the drivers side, leave the old wiper on the passenger side. Are you an impulsive buyer?? Listen here’s what you do……always save the receipt. Find a place to save all the boxes, packaging, etc. Try to get obsessed with folding all the packing materials, making them neat and tape the receipt onto the box/package. Make a game out of it. And get yourself into a new habit called "impulse returning" I once bought a shampoo rug cleaner to scrub my carpets. After I was done I didnt need it anymore so I returned it to the store. I like to think of it as free rental. So remember you have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T!

You need to plan yourself a budget this will show how much money you need to pay out and how much will be left for you to spend if you get paid monthly divide the spending money into 4 and only draw what you are allowed to spend each week stick to it and things will balance themselves out

open a specific savings account. don’t get a debit card for that account. only tap into it when you have to. when you get paid, pay yourself first, even if its only $10-20 a week. avoid impulse buys. ask yourself if you just want it or if you really need it. good luck!

You need to start a budget. I live by my budget. I use excel but there are a ton of programs out there that can help. Just google ‘budget’. You want to figure out what you bills and liabilites are. Basically what you MUST pay each month (bills, groceries, rent/mortgage) etc. Then try to estimate what you will spend on other major categories (gas, shopping, groceries) etc. The most important thing for you to do first though is pay yourself in the form of savings. For example if you bring him $1000 a month, budget what your bills are. The things you must pay each month. After you have done that, see how much money is left out of the $1000. Take 10% of that (or whatever number you choose, and save that money). Pay yourself first. Then see how much money you have to ‘play’ with. That’s your residual money left over for the month. Track your budget month to month to see what spending habits you have. After while you will notice where you can add and cut expenses from your budget to live more financially stable. Hope this helps.

Develop a budget. Look at how much you make a month and how much you spend a month. You will need to cut back on your expenditures so that you are saving money on a monthly basis. This is a good exercise so that you know where your money is going and where you need to cut back.
Get into a saving mindset. Whatever you buy within your budget, do so when the items are on sale or an obvious good deal. Try this for a while and see if you build up your saving account. Set a goal save a certain amount by a set date.

Wear a BLINDFOLD when you must go shopping. Let a friend guide you around and add to your basket, that you’re carrying ON YOUR ARM. Stop when your arm gets tired. (Might work for you – didn’t for me as I’m a willpowerless wimp.)

Easy. Do what I have just done. Open a free online savings account. Link it to your checking account. Set up automatic deposits on a weekly basis (small amounts) so that you cannot spend it- In fact, you probably won’t even know it’s missing!
The next thing you know, you’ll have hundreds of dollars in savings. Try it.
If you want to take this one step further, you can automate your entire financial system and never have to manage your money again. I learned how to do all of this with the free 5G Plan from financialsecrets101.com.
Good luck. Hope this helps!

Blessings, You have to learn to use your will power every one has it, just control your spending, spend a little and save a little each time you get paid, pay all of your bills first before you do any thing, else, don’t go out to eat yet and do not buy any thing yet an less you really need it. check your account each time you paid a bill and make sure you balance your check book if two person are using the same accout, or the same debit card and if you are a Christian pay your 10% to the Lord and you will see a big difference, I hope this help a little
